Professional Background
Lionel has spent his career representing individuals and businesses in complex disputes where legal outcomes carry lasting consequences. His work is supported by a deep knowledge of the law, strong courtroom instincts, and a long-standing commitment to helping clients protect what matters most.
He earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Detroit College of Law at Michigan State University in 1998, where he received academic honors and the book award in Agency and Partnership. During law school, Lionel was selected for both Law Review and Moot Court in the same semester, competed nationally, served on the Moot Court Executive Board, and taught Moot Court classes at both the Detroit and East Lansing campuses through a scholarship.
While in law school, Lionel gained practical legal experience through internships with U.S. Magistrate Virginia Morgan and the Oakland County Probate Court and served as a summer clerk for the Honorable Deborah Servitto at the Macomb County Circuit Court. He also worked as a law clerk at the Law Offices of David E. Field, Regional Counsel for Allstate.
Licensed in Michigan, Illinois, and New York, Lionel is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, the United States Bankruptcy Court, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
His work has earned recognition from organizations such as Super Lawyers and Lawyers of Distinction, reflecting his long-standing commitment to effective legal advocacy and successful results for his clients.
