Moira is a licensed attorney on two continents who has been helping clients since she was first licensed as an attorney in 2003, as a lawyer with the Legal Defense & Assistance Project, a Non-Governmental Organization promoting the Rule of Law and Human Rights in Nigeria. There she specialized as a criminal law attorney helping defendants, often from low-income backgrounds, who were in jail while awaiting trial and would remain in jail for years while awaiting representation before their case can be heard.
Following a satisfying career in Nigeria, Moira came to the United States and continued to assist clients as a Law Clerk at Wayne State’s Disability Clinic with an emphasis on Social Security and Citizen Advocacy Moira later clerked with Legal Aid and Defenders Association Inc. where she continued to represent clients who often had few other choices and could not afford representation.
As her career evolved in the U.S., Moira worked in a Civil Practice division and spent time as a Law Clerk with the Wayne County Corporation Counsel. Moira also worked with the Law Firm of Applebaum & Stone PLC for Three years as a Team Lead Attorney handling personal injury cases and automobile negligence cases. She wanted to continue to spend her time helping clients in need eventually joining Bashore Green Law Group as a trial attorney in 2016.
Moira is an advocate of the fact that auto accident victims are not simply wanting a “financial handout” but are hard-working citizens looking to get the compensation they deserve following an injury. These are consumers who have spent years paying their insurance premiums on time, and they deserve the compensation they are entitled to.
For example, in cases where there is a significant and debilitating physical injury, Moira fights for the client to be compensated for the policy limit, rather than having to settle for something less. Her motivation is giving hope to clients who feel despair and confusion so that they may see light at the end of the tunnel and a bright future. It is what she enjoys most about her job.
At Bashore Green Law Group, Moira enjoys working with a team of dedicated professionals who are committed to client success and satisfaction. She values working at a boutique practice with “big firm” talent and experience since it gives her a chance to be personally immersed in client representation.
Outside of the law, Moira enjoys spending time with her husband and children. She also enjoys reading and listening to podcasts and books on tape, running, swimming, and traveling. She calls herself a “master multitasker” and enjoys remaining active at home, work, and on the road.
