Our team at Bashore Green Law is involved in working with families who have suffered a recent autotruck, or motorcycle accident. But we also provide legal services to support small businesses, and we know that many of our clients are also entrepreneurs.

That is why our team wanted to remind you that small business support to aid businesses that are continuing to be economically affected by the COVID-19 pandemic is available through the Michigan Small Business Development Center (Michigan SBDC) for such services like accounting, e-commerce/website development, human resource support and more, for businesses in all 83 counties in Michigan.

According to Michigan SBDC Executive Director JD Collins, “The pandemic hit small businesses exceptionally hard, and demand for SBDC services skyrocketed. “These services provide immediate value for businesses responding to the pandemic. An online menu for a restaurant, mental health support for struggling staff (members), or childcare-focused consulting are just a few of the services that are part of our comeback kit.”

In partnership with the state of Michigan, the Michigan SBDC is involved with proactively enhancing Michigan’s economic well-being by providing consulting, training, and market research for current and developing small businesses and advanced technology companies.

The SBDC has contracted with Michigan-based small businesses to deliver a full range of expanded services that are needed to help support growth in an online world. This includes contracting with web development agencies, marketing branding, and social media experts, accountants, employee assistance programs, and more. The no-cost services are available through September 2021 and with free additional support offered by SBDC’s team of business consultants. Individual, online consulting appointments can be booked across the state.

Along with the services mentioned above, eligible small businesses may take advantage of the following services offered through the CARES Act funding:

  • Accounting
  • Branding
  • Graphic design
  • Website development
  • E-commerce support
  • Human resources support

All entrepreneurs and small businesses can access free consulting through the SBDC at any time. To qualify for the SBDC’s expanded small business recovery program, a business must:

  • Be a client of the Michigan SBDC
  • Have gross revenue under $1 million
  • Have a demonstrated need for such services to pivot or survive the crisis.

Individuals can register for SBDC services and learn more about the small business recovery program. Contact the team at Bashore Green to learn more. While much of our work with victims of auto accidents, we also provide legal services to support owners of small businesses around the state.
